How do I record my voice in the browser?

The short answer

Voice Recorder captures microphone audio in your browser after you grant permission. Choose a quiet space and do a short test before a full performance. A browser recording is still affected by the microphone, room and device settings.

Try this workflow

  1. Open Voice Recorder in a direct browser tab.
  2. Allow microphone access and record a short spoken or sung test.
  3. Stop, listen, then record and download the take you want to keep.

What to check before you finish

Keep a backup of the downloaded file before closing the page. A clear test is more useful than assuming the selected microphone is correct. Check for room echo, fan noise and sudden changes in level.

A practical example

Before a full cover, speak a sentence and sing the loudest chorus line into the microphone. Download this test and listen outside the recording page. You can confirm both capture and export without spending several minutes on a take that turns out to use the wrong input or has constant fan noise.

More questions

Does SurStudio store the recording in an online account?

No. This version keeps recording and processing on your device. Download anything you want to preserve.

Should I allow the microphone when opening any tool?

No. Only recording, karaoke and tuning need microphone input. Ordinary file editing does not require microphone permission to process an uploaded recording.
