SurStudio

SurStudio Privacy Policy

Updated October 2, 2026. This notice describes the current SurStudio audio tools and website.

Your audio is processed on your device. Vocal removal, stem separation and audio editing run in your browser. Limited usage information helps us understand which tools work well and where errors happen. Mini Studio may save projects locally in your browser.

Audio files, AI vocal removal and stem separation

Choosing a file gives the browser access to that file for the task you start. SurStudio does not send your audio, separated stems or recordings to its server for processing. AI model files are downloaded from this website and may be cached on your device. Your audio is not collected by SurStudio to train an AI model.

Ordinary tool sessions hold audio in browser memory. Downloads are saved where you choose on your device. Closing a page ends the active session, but does not delete downloaded files, cached models or locally saved Mini Studio projects.

Microphone access and recording privacy

Voice Recorder, Karaoke Studio, Mini Studio and the tuner request microphone permission when you enable the relevant feature. Microphone audio is used locally for recording, monitoring or pitch detection.

Stopping a take is different from turning off live monitoring: some recording tools keep the microphone available for another take. Use the microphone-off control, close the page or revoke permission in your browser when you want to end access.

Mini Studio projects and browser storage

Mini Studio uses local browser storage, including IndexedDB, for project autosaves and audio passed from an editing tool into the studio. This is storage on the device and browser you are using, rather than a SurStudio cloud backup.

Local projects can remain after you close the page. Clearing SurStudio site data or browser storage can remove them and cached AI models. Save a project file and important audio downloads before clearing storage. Browser cleanup and private-browsing settings may also remove local data.

Tool-usage analytics

The website sends limited events such as tool opens, processing starts and outcomes, downloads and recording actions. An event can include a random event identifier, tool name, processing mode, elapsed processing time, broad device category and a predefined error category. It does not include your audio, filenames, typed text or microphone recording.

We use these events to compare tool usage and improve reliability. Aggregate usage data is retained for approximately 180 days. Temporary event identifiers prevent duplicate counting. The analytics application does not use these events to build a named customer profile.

The analytics client respects a browser's Global Privacy Control signal and Do Not Track setting by not collecting new usage events when either is enabled. Browser support for these settings varies.

Cookies, session storage and security

A browser-session marker helps count a visit once per tab session. The private owner dashboard uses necessary authentication cookies for sign-in and security; public audio tools do not require a customer account.

Requests reach our hosting server with technical information such as an IP address and request headers. The application uses temporary hashed request identifiers to limit abuse. Hosting infrastructure may keep access or security logs separately from tool-usage counters. This notice does not claim that all server logs are anonymous or share the same retention period.

Contact emails and support information

If you email contact@surstudio.app, your email address, message, attachments and ordinary email metadata are processed by our mailbox provider and used to respond or investigate your request. Please avoid sending passwords, login codes or private recordings.

Support correspondence may be kept while needed to handle your request and relevant follow-up. You can ask about access, correction or deletion of information you provided by emailing the same address. Some information may need to be retained for security or other applicable obligations; we will explain relevant limits when responding.

Hosting and email service providers

Spaceship hosts the website and its analytics backend; Spacemail handles the support mailbox and private owner login emails when configured. These services handle the technical data needed to deliver their functions. Visiting an external link or using your own email application is also subject to that service's privacy practices.

The current audio workflow does not require sending your recording to an external AI processing service.

Advertising

No advertising provider is connected in the current version. Advertising spaces do not by themselves load advertising trackers. If ads or additional analytics services are enabled later, this notice will be updated to identify the service and explain relevant storage and consent choices.

Privacy contact and policy updates

Email contact@surstudio.app for questions about audio-file privacy, browser storage, usage analytics or support messages. Please describe the request without sending sensitive credentials.

When data practices change, we will update this page and its date. Open the Contact page for general vocal remover, stem splitter and audio-tool support.

Language preference

When you choose an interface language, SurStudio stores that preference in local storage on your device. It is used to keep your language choice across pages and later visits. This preference does not contain your recordings. You can change it with the language menu or clear it by removing website data in your browser. Interface translation does not guarantee that every long article or guide is available in that language.
