How do I create a slowed-and-reverb version?

How do I create a slowed-and-reverb version?

Slowed-and-reverb combines a slower pace with added reverberation. The balance matters: too much effect can hide words and soften rhythm. Start with a small speed change and modest reverb so you can still hear the original musical phrasing.

Try this workflow

  1. Open Slowed + Reverb and choose a starting preset.
  2. Adjust speed and reverb amount gradually.
  3. Check a quiet phrase and a busy chorus before downloading.

What to check before you finish

Compare with a dry version at similar loudness. A dense source may need less reverb than a sparse one. If clarity falls, reduce the effect instead of boosting the whole output to compensate.

A practical example

For a sparse vocal demo, start with a moderate slowdown and a small reverb amount. Compare the dry and wet versions during a lyric-heavy phrase. If the words blur, lower the reverb first. In this effect, playback-rate changes affect pitch as well as speed; use Pitch & Speed when you need independent control.

More questions

Will more reverb make every song atmospheric?

No. It can also make the arrangement muddy or distant. Choose the amount that suits the recording.

Can I slow the song here without changing pitch?

Use Pitch & Speed for independent time stretching. Slowed + Reverb uses playback-rate processing, which changes speed and pitch together.
