Video to audio converter: MP4 to MP3, MOV to WAV and more

Extract a local video soundtrack and choose MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, OPUS, AIFF or WMA without running vocal separation.

Keep a complete soundtrack without AI

Open Video Vocal Remover in the audio toolkit and select your video. The video processor extracts its audio into the shared editor. Download full audio keeps the soundtrack with the singer, instruments and other recorded sounds together. It does not remove vocals or background music.

Choose this workflow when you need an interview recording, rehearsal audio, a practice soundtrack or an audio file for another editor. You can keep the complete audio without downloading or running a separation model. Only the conversion engine is needed for this step.

Video formats you can try

The video picker accepts MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, M4V, MPEG, MPG, WMV, FLV, 3GP, 3G2, TS, MTS, M2TS, VOB, OGV, ASF, F4V, MXF and QT. The file must contain a readable audio track. A silent video or video-only stream has no soundtrack to extract.

The file container and codec are separate things. Two MP4 files can contain different audio encodings, so one may work while another does not. Protected downloads, unsupported codecs and damaged files may fail. This tool takes a local file; it does not fetch a streaming URL.

Nine audio output choices

Select MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG, OPUS, AIFF or WMA under Full soundtrack output, then choose Download full audio. The converter encodes the selected format rather than only changing a filename. Preview or play your output after saving it.

MP3 is useful for portable listening, while WAV, AIFF and FLAC can be suitable for editing and archiving. M4A and AAC use AAC encoding in different packaging. OGG uses Vorbis, OPUS uses Opus encoding and WMA uses Windows Media Audio encoding. Choose what your next editor or player can actually open.

Examples of video to audio conversion

Common workflows include MP4 video to MP3 audio, MOV to MP3, WebM to WAV, MKV to MP3, AVI to WAV, M4V to M4A, MPEG to MP3, WMV to MP3 and FLV to MP3. You can also extract compatible 3GP, TS, MTS, M2TS, VOB, OGV, ASF, F4V, MXF and QT soundtracks.

Changing the output format does not improve the original recording. Saving compressed audio as WAV creates an editable file but cannot recover missing detail. Keep the original video as a reference when comparing outputs or preparing a later vocal separation.

Performance and file limits

The conversion engine downloads about 31 MB on first use and runs locally. Use videos up to 250 MB and 30 minutes, subject to device memory. Decoded audio can take much more space than the original compressed file. A short test clip helps establish whether your phone can handle the job.

Keep the page open during conversion. Use Cancel processing if you need to stop. Once the soundtrack is ready, download it or proceed to a ten-second separation preview. Full AI separation is optional and adds its own model download and processing time.
